Nora Marcus, LMSW, is a New York-based social worker, therapist, certified divorce coach, and mediator. As a licensed New York State social worker who received her master’s degree from Columbia University School of Social Work, Nora merges fierce advocacy with compassionate solutions to foster long-term, positive change for her clients. In her clinical work, she employs a holistic approach rooted in her belief that all individuals are capable of change and growth. By bringing a multidisciplinary approach to her practice, she tailors each therapeutic relationship to meet individual needs — providing a client-centered structure that facilitates growth and fosters resilience.

 

She supports families and individuals through the challenges of divorce by providing active listening and actionable recommendations, helping them find choice, voice, and purpose. With specialty training as a co-parenting specialist and certification as a divorce mediator, she is passionate about promoting child-focused, sustainable co-parenting solutions tailored to unique family needs, fostering her work with individuals undergoing significant life transitions.

 

Throughout her career, Nora has been committed to elevating underrepresented communities. At Autism Speaks, for seven years, she developed programming that empowered families for long-term success following an autism diagnosis. Prior to that, she created initiatives for the Jewish National Fund to engage young adults and strengthen their Jewish faith. She has also played a vital role in her local school community through volunteer work and fundraising.

 

Nora resides in Long Island with her two children. She stays grounded through daily yoga, meditation, and breath work. In addition, she enjoys experimenting in her kitchen and dreaming up new recipes.
